The annual Yadkin Valley Wine Festival will celebrate its Sweet 16 this year on May 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elkin Municipal Park.

From now until May 27th, visit the Foothills Arts Council for ArtReach East where work from Davie, Forsyth and Stokes counties are on exhibit. Foothills Arts Council exhibits are free and open to the public Thursday through Saturday, noon to 6 pm.

Angry Troll Brewery held its grand opening Friday, April 7th. The brewery and restaurant is located in The Liberty in downtown Elkin.

The seventh annual Habitat Hammer was held April 8th, benefiting the Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity, which builds and renovates houses in Yadkin County and the Tri-County area of Surry and Wilkes. Read more in the Elkin Tribune.
