UnderdownBall is pleased to announce its contribution to the Yadkin Valley United Fund‘s annual fall campaign, which is currently underway. The 2015-2016 goal is to raise $150,000 which will help fund over 25 human-need agencies and programs in the communities of Arlington, Jonesville, Elkin, Traphill, Thurmond, State Road, Mountain Park and Ronda.

The Elkin Advisory Committee of The Winston-Salem Foundation recently recommended nine grants totaling $31,700 to nonprofits serving the Elkin Tri-Counties region. These grants support programs in the areas of arts, education, recreation, health and human services. The Elkin Advisory Committee is comprised of 10 local community members one of which is Robert Ball with UnderdownBall.
Two organizations that enrich Elkin and surrounding areas are the Foothills Arts Council and its associate member the Elkin Valley Fiddlers. Both organizations recently received grants from the Winston-Salem Foundation. On Saturday, September 12th, a new section of the E&A Rail Trail opened connecting Grassy Creek Vineyard to the Byrd’s Branch Campground. This section of the trail features a new bridge built by Harrison Hall as part of his Eagle Scout project.
